Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal bounce back from their 1-1 draw against the Democratic Republic of the Congo with five-goal thrashing of Uzbekistan.

Ronaldo made sure to silence any doubt that may have sprouted after he failed to tally a goal in his first match against DR Congo.

He’d find the back of the net early, sinking home his ninth World Cup goal and becoming the first player ever to score in six different World Cups.

Pourtgal would continue to stack on early in the first half.

In the 17th minute Nuno Mendes would strike home a free kick from just outside the box and double Portugal’s advantage.

However, in the 29th minute Uzbekistan would claw one back with a beautiful strike from Azizjon Ganiev.

But following a VAR review, it was determined an Uzbek foul just prior to the strike would nullify the goal.

Pourtugal continued to press, looking for one more before the half.

And in the 39th minute, Ronaldo would extend Portugal’s led with a brace.

Portugal would head into the half with their three-goal advantage.

And following half time, they would continue to add on.

In the 60th minute a Portuguese corner would ricochet around inside the six-yard box before deflecting off of an Uzbek defender and into goal.

And if the match wasn’t already on ice, Portugal’s Rafael Leão would all but ice the game with his first and the fifth for Portugal.

Portugal would take this match comfortably with a final score of 5-0

Uzbekistan and Portugal will play their final group stage matches at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Portugal shifts focus to Colombia next, a match with plenty of scoring potential.

Uzbekistan are still searching for their first World Cup point and will look to do so against DR Congo.
