Rockets demolish Warriors to extend series

The Houston Rockets were determined in Game 5. They weren’t ready to go home and used a 15-0 run in the first quarter to open up a 40-24 advantage after one period of play.

Houston kept up their hot play in the third quarter, including leading by as much as 31 points at one point. Golden State would make a push to get back into the game in the fourth.

The Warriors went on a 25-7 run, but ultimately, the Rockets held them off. Houston won 131-116, sending the series to a sixth game.

The Rockets were led by Fred VanVleet‘s 26 points, and Amen Thompson‘s 25. For the Warriors, Stephen Curry struggled shooting 4-12 from the field for 13 points, while Jimmy Butler added just eight points on 2-10 shooting.

Can the Rockets become the 14th team to win a series after trailing 3-1? Game 6 is this Friday.
