The LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers 2025 offseason drama continues to shed more light. Apparently, LeBron has made up his mind on wanting out of LA for much longer than we had originally known.

NBA journalist, Howard Beck, recently made an appearance on The Lowe Post podcast with Zach Lowe, where he gave insight on this claim.

“He is either doing what he’s always done and putting pressure on a front office. He’s done this everywhere he’s been, or, I guess, there’s an alternative version here where he truly does want out. I have not talked to anybody yet who, I take that back.

“One person said not only does he want out, but he’s wanted out predating this. I don’t want to go say how far back it was. I don’t know if that’s true or not.”

As you can see, Beck’s claim is not backed up by any real facts. Nor does he claim it to be true. In fact, it is just a rumor.

Was this just made up to gain clicks? Or has LeBron really been mulling the idea of leaving the Lakers for quite some time?

With how the other reports sound, and LeBron’s own track record of bailing on teams, it is likely true. If LeBron decides to demand a trade from LA is yet to be seen.

Stay tuned, the LeBron-Lakers drama will likely continue to play out like a true Hollywood drama.
