Paul George erupted for a 39-point performance on Wednesday, leading the Philadelphia 76ers to a 153-131 win over the Washington Wizards.

George hit the ground running in the first quarter, putting up 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting. While most players cool off a bit after such a strong quarter, George maintained this level of production for the entire game.
The Wizards put together a 42-point performance to keep it competitive in the second quarter, but George and the Sixers continued to pile on the points at a high rate.
Behind George’s impressive scoring, the Sixers maintained a double-digit advantage to secure the victory.
He finished the game with 39 points, six assists and three steals while shooting 15-of-22 from the field.
For the Wizards, Anthony Gill led the way with 21 points, six rebounds and six assists off the bench.
Wednesday’s vintage performance reminded the world that George can still turn back the clock.
