According to Charania, the star forward received injections to his left adductor muscle and left knee on Monday. He is ruled out for the rest of the season. The 6-foot-8, 220-pounder is in his first year in Philadelphia after spending five years with the Los Angeles Clippers, two seasons at Oklahoma City, and seven seasons with the Indiana Pacers. The 34-year-old is having his worst season statistically since his rookie season in Indiana (2010-11, 7.8 ppg) and final season with the Pacers (2014-15, 8.8 ppg).
George is a nine-time NBA All-Star selection, but he’s averaging 16.2 points per game.
Philadelphia is out of the postseason race at. 23-44, so the organization feels the need to shut George down.
76ers’ fans are hopeful to see him return stronger next season.
