The New York Yankees’ ugly road trip got worse on Wednesday as they were shut out 7-0 by the Baltimore Orioles.

Orioles starter Kyle Bradish put on a dominant display of pitching at the mound on Wednesday, keeping the Yankees cold throughout the afternoon.

At the same time, the Orioles were getting hits left and right, both literally and figuratively.

It wasn’t a tremendous avalanche of runs early, but the Orioles sent in a runner each inning or two. They did so while continuing to help Bradish nearly pitch a no-hitter.

After three innings, Yankees pitcher Max Fried left the game and did not return. It was later revealed that he’s dealing with elbow posterior soreness and will undergo imaging on Thursday to determine the injury.

By the fifth inning, the Yankees were down 3-0. Jazz Chisolm Jr. finally broke the seal with a line-drive double, but that would end up being the only hit that Baltimore would allow on Wednesday.

They cleaned it up to keep New York scoreless before sending two more runs in the fifth inning and two more in the sixth to take a 7-0 advantage.

As Bradish finished strong, Orioles relievers Dietrich Enns, Yennier Cano and Keegan Akin all pitched well to keep New York to one hit in the matchup.

The Yankees are now 1-5 on this road trip after going 6-1 in their last homestand.
