Hawkins rushed for 175 yards and three touchdowns in the first half — including scoring runs of 21 and 37 yards — and added a receiving touchdown in the third quarter. He had 96 rushing yards by the end of the first quarter.

The Wildcats allowed touchdowns on Oklahoma State’s first six red-zone possessions. Kansas State answered with a three-play, 77-yard drive, capped by a touchdown pass from quarterback Blake Barnett to wide receiver Derrick Salley. Hawkins’ 21-yard run restored OSU’s lead. His 37-yard run extended it. Mestemaker connected with tight end Morgan McPhaul for a 3-yard TD. Logan Bartley intercepted Mestemaker and returned it for a touchdown. Mestemaker then ran in from 1 yard out, and Hawkins scored his third rushing TD. Mestemaker found wide receiver Miles Coleman for a 19-yard TD with 11 seconds left in the half, giving Oklahoma State a 49–14 halftime lead.

Oklahoma State improved to 6–3 overall and 4–2 in Big 12 play. Kansas State fell to 4–5 and 1–5 in conference play, dropping its third consecutive game.
