Following Friday night’s controversial 72-71 loss to Cal., Notre Dame head coach Micah Shrewsberry charged at referee Adam Flore. Both players and staff had to restrain him from reaching Flore.
As the Fighting Irish attempted to foul late while up by three, the officials called the foul initially before rescinding the call.
When Notre Dame tried to foul again, Golden Bears guard Dai Dai Ames attempted and made a three-point shot as the whistle was blown, leading to a four-point play that secured the victory.
Ultimately, Ames made the shot with seemingly no contact from his defender, but Flore and the officiating crew upheld the call.
Another angle of the encounter shows just how close Shrewsberry got to reaching Flore.
Shrewsberry wasn’t assessed a technical foul or ejected since the game was already over, but he may face discipline from the ACC. He did not speak to reporters after the game.
