NFL To Investigate Ravens Over Lamar Jackson Injury Report

The NFL is officially set to investigate the Baltimore Ravens over how they handled Lamar Jackson’s participation in practice on Friday. Despite being listed as a full participant on the day of practice, his status was changed to limited later on. He was ultimately ruled out of Sunday’s matchup against the Chicago Bears because of a hamstring injury.

The discrepancy between his status from Friday to Saturday is what could lead to disciplinary action by the NFL, potentially being a violation of the league’s injury report policy.

“Lamar Jackson was present for and participated fully in our entire Friday practice,” the Ravens said in a statement. “Upon further evaluation today and after conferring with the league office, because Lamar didn’t take any starter reps in practice, we updated our report to reflect his practice participation.”

Backup Tyler Huntley will start in Jackson’s place as the Ravens face the Bears on Sunday. Baltimore’s season has not gone as expected, losing four straight and falling to 1-5.

While the investigation is still underway, the Ravens could lose a future draft pick if the league finds conclusive violations.
