New York Knicks fans spoiling hard-earned NBA Finals appearance

Many analysts cite the New York Knicks’ fanbase as the most passionate and loyal in all of the NBA, but recent antics are spoiling the fun.

After a tough loss in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, Knicks fans struggled to maintain composure, as violent acts and numerous arrests occurred. While the team is looking to bounce back after their first loss in 46 days, the fans are beating up opposing fans.

The Knicks went on an unbelievable run in this playoffs, winning a franchise-record of 13 consecutive games. Jalen Brunson led the way with his many clutch performances, but the team has worked so cohesively under Coach Mike Brown.

Considering the all-around stellar play of the Knicks, Coach Brown deserves his flowers. He has played instrumental roles for championship-winning Spurs and Warriors teams as an assistant coach, but he unfortunately has not been able to get over the hump as a head coach. There has never been a more appropriate time for Brown to etch his name in the history books.

Overall, Brown and his Knicks squad have more than earned the right to win a chip for New York. However, do the Knicks fans deserve it? Their first loss in almost two months came with such controversy, and it leaves a bad taste in the mouths of the rest of the NBA’s fanbase.

Five police officers were injured during the outbursts, along with numerous acts of vandalism and destruction. New York City officials are now questioning the continuance of watch-party permits. While long-time Knicks fans are trying to support their team on this historic run, bad eggs are establishing quite a bad reputation after just one loss.

Everyone watched Game 3 and saw the frustrating instances. Victor Wembanyama fouled Brunson with an aggressive shove. The Spurs shot three times as many free throws in the second half. These things happen in sports, and they definitely do not excuse a fanbase to act out so violently.

Knicks fans are on thin ice, and we will see if they can keep their emotions in check when the Knicks attempt to defend their home court again in Game 4 tomorrow night.
