The NBA landscape was abruptly altered earlier this season when the Dallas Mavericks traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in a move that sent Anthony Davis to the Mavericks. It was the first time in the modern era that a superstar as young as Doncic was traded mid-season, especially after reaching the NBA Finals less than a year prior.
In a private discussion with local reporters on Tuesday, Mavs GM Nico Harrison responded to the immense backlash he’s received, doubling down on his take that the trade was a success.

“There’s no regrets on the trade,” Harrison said. “Part of my job is to do the best thing for the Mavericks, not only today, but also in the future, and some of the decisions I’m going to make are going to be unpopular. That’s my job, and I have to stand by it.”
