Nashville SC set a new Major League Soccer single-season points record with 77 points after beating FC Cincinnati 2-0 on Saturday, the final day of the 2026 regular season.
Sam Surridge scored his 20th and 21st goals of the season in the second half to secure the victory. Nashville entered the match tied with Inter Miami CF’s 74-point total from 2024 — the previous record, set during Inter Miami’s first full season with Lionel Messi.

Nashville also set the MLS record for fewest goals conceded in a 34-game season: 25. The 2020 expansion team did not suffer back-to-back losses in any competition — MLS, Leagues Cup or Concacaf Champions Cup — this year.
Nashville clinched the Supporters’ Shield two weeks ago, awarded to the team with the best regular-season record. It enters the MLS Cup Playoffs on a 10-game unbeaten streak. Its home record was 15 wins, zero losses and two draws, with a 48-14 goal differential — securing homefield advantage throughout the postseason.
