The Milwaukee Brewers got off to a quick start against the New York Yankees on Friday thanks to some historic pitching by Jacob Misiorowski.
The 24-year-old nearly had a perfect inning, sending out three batters, but what made his start historic was his sheer velocity.

He threw ten pitches in the first inning, all clocking in at over 102 miles per hour, with seven of them being the seven fastest pitches ever recorded by a starter.
Since tracking began in 2008, only three pitches over 103 mph have been thrown by starters prior to Misiorowski’s outburst on Friday.
His four-seam fastball has been his go-to pitch this season, and there’s no need to change that if he continues to pitch like he did to start Friday’s game.
