Miami Heat stun Oklahoma City Thunder 122-120 in thrilling upset

The Miami Heat pulled off a stunning 122-120 victory over the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder, snapping OKC’s five-game winning streak.

The Thunder entered the matchup with the best record in the league at 35-7. They are the clear favorite to win the title this season.

When at full strength, OKC is nearly unstoppable. They wouldn’t be at full strength by the end of the game as Jalen Williams exited in the second quarter with right thigh soreness, unable to return.

In the loss, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dominated with 39 points, but it wouldn’t be enough on this night.

Miami, sitting at 21-20 and missing key contributors like Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., and Davion Mitchell, leaned heavily on Bam Adebayo. The All-Star center erupted for 30 points, 12 rebounds, and a career-high six three-pointers. The real hero was Andrew Wiggins.

The NBA champion buried the Thunder with a clutch three-pointer with 31 seconds remaining, giving the Heat the lead they would not relinquish.
