Memphis Grizzlies shut down Ja Morant for remainder of 2025-26 season

Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season due to a UCL sprain in his left elbow, the team announced on Tuesday.

Morant only appeared in 20 games this season while dealing with other nagging injuries before suffering the elbow injury in late January.

He has only appeared in 79 games over the last three seasons due to a combination of injuries and suspensions.

The Grizzlies revealed that Morant consulted medical professionals recently on how best to recover. They ultimately recommended that he receive a plasma injection to promote the healing of the joint.

He is expected to make a full recovery and be ready for the 2026-27 season. With Morant on the sideline, Walter Clayton and Cam Spencer are likely to continue playing in a larger role.
