That somebody was rookie Cooper Flagg.

Ever since Flagg was drafted first overall, fans have been wanting to get a glimpse of the college phenom. Unfortunately, Flagg has struggled to start his NBA career.
Tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans, Flagg stepped up. He scored 20 points while adding nine rebounds, three steals, and two blocks.
This wasn’t a bad performance, but the Mavericks failed to secure the victory. The Pelicans, led by Saddiq Bey’s 22 points, won 101-99.
These games are heartbreaking to lose but there is good to come out of it. This is all a valuable learning experience for Flagg, who could blossom into one of the greats to play in the NBA.
