Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Doncic will now seek specialized medical treatment in Europe in an attempt to speed up his return to action, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

According to Sharania, Doncic consulted both the Lakers’ staff and his own medical team before deciding to seek more specialized treatment overseas.
The news comes just after the Lakers took a loss to the Dallas Mavericks at the hands of Cooper Flagg‘s 45-point performance on Sunday night.
Doncic was diagnosed with a Grade 2 left hamstring strain on Friday after going down with a non-contact injury against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
L.A.’s injury woes have only worsened since as Austin Reaves was ruled out for roughly 4-6 weeks with an oblique injury on Friday.
41-year-old LeBron James is now expected to be the first option to start the playoffs. With Doncic now headed to Europe in the hopes of recovering faster, the Lakers could be in for a rough few weeks.
