Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic has called off his engagement to longtime fiancée Anamaria Goltes. He is now locked in a custody battle over their two young daughters.

The Lakers star confirmed the split in a statement to ESPN on March 10, 2026, citing his inability to bring the children to the United States during the season.

“I love my daughters more than anything and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season. But that hasn’t been possible. So, I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement,” Doncic said.

“Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”

The couple, who began dating in 2016 and got engaged in 2023, welcomed their second daughter just three months ago. Goltes, 28, lives in Slovenia with the girls. She recently filed a petition in California court seeking child support and attorney fees from Doncic, who was reportedly unaware of the filing.

Doncic, fresh off a three-year, $165 million contract extension, insists he has always supported his family financially. The high-profile dispute highlights the personal toll of his demanding NBA career as both sides prepare for legal proceedings.
