LiAngelo Ball

LiAngelo Ball explains why he left basketball for music career

LiAngelo Ball is the only Ball brother not to be playing in the NBA. It’s not his fault, however.

LiAngelo is a good player who can really shoot and has had opportunities on NBA Summer League teams, as well as playing in the G League. Unfortunately, nothing panned out for LiAngelo making an NBA roster.

LiAngelo has found success off the court and in the music industry. His hit rap song “Tweaker” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Rhythmic Airplay chart.

Recently, LiAngelo explained why he left the G League to focus on his music career.

“Really, the way it pays, the way of living, everything… I was in the G League. That’s $3K a month. As a grown man? That ain’t it. I was getting mine and throwing it, like, the second you touch that 3K, it’s already gone. It holds no weight.

“When I started getting paid for music, it wasn’t some hard decision. I wasn’t sitting there contemplating like, ‘Damn, should I keep hooping?’ Nah. At that point, I was like, ‘I gotta live now.’”

LiAngelo has found his niche, and hopefully, he continues to put out new music. His story is inspiring, proving that sometimes you have to shift gears to find your ultimate success in life.
