Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was the leader of Team USA this summer during the 2024 Paris Olympics. After securing the gold medal and winning the tournament MVP, James recently appeared on the “Gojo and Golic” podcast and praised Anthony Edwards for bringing passion and intensity to the team.
“Seeing the excitement that Ant-Man played with, even off the court, was incredible,” James said. “He wanted to compete against everybody. You probably saw him wanting to compete against Team USA’s ping-pong team.”

“He just wanted to compete against everyone, and seeing that electric energy from such a young guy, for us as the older players, reminded us of the energy we used to have. It was definitely a blessing to be around him and the rest of the young guys,” James said.
Although Edwards was initially criticized for his intensity early in his career, he’s backed it up with high-level play. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him leading the way for Team USA in the future.
