The Los Angeles Lakers escaped the San Antonio Spurs in a nail-biter. LA won 118-116, thanks to 35 points, nine rebounds, 13 assists, and five rebounds from Luka Doncic.

Doncic certainly had a great game, but he did struggle shooting. He shot just 9-27 from the field and 4-11 from three. It was his free-throw shooting that saved him. He shot 13-17 from the charity stripe.

As for the Spurs star, Wembanyama had a terrible game. He scored 19 points, but shot only 5-14. He added eight rebounds but only one blocked shot.

Worst of all, Wembanyama fouled out of the game with 1:39. This certainly wasn’t how he wanted to end his night.

Wembanyama remains winless against Doncic, now 0-5. He’ll get another chance to deliver a win over Doncic on January 7, when LA comes to San Antonio.
