LeBron James

Kwame Brown says LeBron James’ game hasn’t ‘developed’

LeBron James shooting a jumpshot over Joel Embiid

Former No. 1 pick Kwame Brown is no stranger to the spotlight. Now, it seems, he’s using this spotlight to make it clear that he is not a fan of LeBron James.

In a recent interview with Swish Cultures, Brown expressed his thoughts about James’ game.

“The old-school players wouldn’t have any trouble with LeBron because, at 39, he should have developed a mid-range and a post-game, and he still hasn’t yet,” Brown said. “His game really hasn’t evolved outside of a three and putting his head down and going to the basket. He doesn’t go like Paul Pierce, getting to a spot, pulling up. Those are the things you normally see out of a superstar player.”

This is not the first time Brown has criticized James publicly and likely won’t be the last. For the duration of James’ career, critics have claimed that he lacks offensive skill and mostly relies on strength and athleticism.

This may be true for James’ early years in the league, but he finished last season shooting a career high 41% from three. All in all, it’s hard to believe that someone could become the NBA’s all time leading scorer without having a developed offensive game.
