Kon Knueppel’s historic rookie season became a little more impressive on Thursday.
With his third made triple against the Knicks on Wednesday, Knueppel became the youngest player in NBA history to reach 250+ 3PM in a single season, and the first player ever to do so under the age of 22.

Knueppel has separated himself as not only one of the league’s top rookies, but as one of the best sharpshooters in the world. The 6’5″ shooting guard has been a major part of the Charlotte Hornets’ transformation.
What seemed like a lottery team to start the season has become one of the hottest offenses in the NBA, in part due to Knueppel’s hot hand. He’s leading the entire league in threes this season while averaging 19.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists.
But he’s not just a volume shooter, he’s knocking down threes at a red-hot 43.6% clip this season.
He’s currently in a two-man race for Rookie of the Year, keeping pace with No. 1 overall pick and former Duke teammate Cooper Flagg.
Flagg is having a terrific season with the Mavericks, but Kon Knueppel is doing things that we’ve never seen a rookie do.
