Jets Owner Woody Johnson Blames Justin Fields For 0-7 Start

The Jets currently have the worst record in the NFL and are the only team without a win so far this season. While their defense hasn’t been stellar, their offense has been the biggest weakness up to this point.

When asked about his faith in head coach Aaron Glenn, Jets owner Woody Johnson was brutally honest about who he blames for the offensive struggles.

“It’s hard when you have a quarterback with a rating that we got. He has the ability but something is just, it’s not jiving,” Johnson said. “But you look at any head coach with a quarterback like that you’re going to see similar results across the league. You have to play consistently at that position and that’s what we’re going to try to do.”

While Johnson’s remarks were rather harsh for an NFL owner midseason, they weren’t necessarily incorrect. The Jets rank dead last in passing yards per game and are near the bottom in most offensive metrics.

“If we could just complete a pass, it would look good.”

Glenn has told reporters that he has yet to decide who will start at quarterback in Week 8. With added pressure from ownership, the Jets will look to crack the win column against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
