The Houston Rockets had big plans this season. This is especially true after trading for Kevin Durant.

Yes, the Rockets were looking to contend for an NBA championship. With their roster, and now Durant, Houston certainly would have a great chance.

These chances have now dropped. News has come out stating star guard Fred VanVleet may miss the entire 2025-26 NBA season due to a torn ACL.

VanVleet averaged 14.1 points, 5.6 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game last season for Houston. It will be hard for the Rockets to overcome his numbers, and it will add more pressure on Durant, who will be turning 37 on September 29.
