The 2026 Indianapolis 500 belongs to Felix Rosenqvist after a historic race from start to finish. Sunday’s race saw everything from rain delays, to multi-car crashes and wall collisions.
The 110th running of the Indy 500 saw an all-time record 70 lead changes, surpassing the 2013 race won by Tony Kanaan that saw 68 lead changes.

Throughout the race, several drivers crashed after going to low on one of the turns and overcorrecting. This gave a number of racers the opportunity to make up ground in the race.
24-year-old phenom David Malukas was in control for a large portion of the race, but Mick Schumacher clipped the outside wall near the very end, setting up a restart on the final lap.
Malukas was in front to start the 200th lap, but Rosenqvist overtook Marcus Armstrong for second and set himself up for a final stretch against Malukas.
As the finish line approached with both drivers going 110%, Rosenqvist took the outside and barely got in front for the victory.
Rosenqvist won the race by just 0.0233 seconds, the closest finish in Indy 500 history and a fitting end for a stunning race.
