In the first game of the opening round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs, the Memphis Grizzlies found themselves matched up against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the result was not pretty. The Thunder secured the largest playoff win in franchise history and the largest Game 1 victory of all time, winning 131-80.
Despite an unusually poor shooting night for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Thunder demolished the Grizzlies on both ends of the floor. Strong defense and a quick offense allowed the Thunder to open up a historic lead. While Game 1 of any series is never a reason to overreact, the NBA world was understandably shocked by OKC’s performance on Sunday.

Luckily for Memphis, it’s a seven game series that could still go either way. They’ll get their next chance to prove that on Tuesday for Game 2.
