The Los Angeles Lakers are making moves early in free agency. They have signed Jake LaRavia to a two-year $12 million deal.

Now, Jake LaRavia may not be the free agent signing Lakers fans were hoping for. LA needs to boost their roster in order to compete for an NBA championship next season.

This is crucial if the Lakers want to keep LeBron James on the roster. As of now, all reports are stating that LeBron isn’t impressed with the roster, and if he feels LA won’t be in a position to compete for a title, he’ll request a trade.

If the Lakers want to secure an NBA title next season, they must sign better players. They have Luka Doncic, and clearly, LA wants to rebuild around him.

Still, with LeBron on your roster, you need to focus on winning now. With moves like adding Jake LaRavia, the Lakers are not inching any closer to becoming championship contenders.
