The 2025 NBA Draft has officially begun and it has come as no surprise that Cooper Flagg of Duke University was selected first overall. The entire Dallas Mavericks front office is certainly smiling right now.
After trading their star, Luka Doncic, the entire NBA was scratching its head. Once Dallas secured the first overall pick, everyone knew their luck had changed.

After being drafted, Flagg spoke about his mindset as he joins the Mavericks.
“My mindset has always been to be a winner, so I’m going to try to win as hard as I can everywhere I go. I’m looking forward to being successful and winning a lot of games, for sure,” Flagg said.

In his one season at Duke, Flagg put up averages of 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 48.1%. He’ll now take his talents to Dallas to see how well he can fit in with Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson, and Kyrie Irving.
