The road to the NBA has been a long and interesting journey for former JBA League alum, Curtis Hollis. Four years ago, Hollis bet on himself and chose an unconventional path instead of going the college route.
Today, sources tell Ball Exclusives that Hollis has joined the Motor City Cruise of the G-League. The Motor City Cruise is part of the Detroit Pistons in which Hollis, per sources has spent the past two weeks in training camp preparing for the G-League season.

This is Hollis’ second stint in the G-League. Last year he spent a couple weeks with the Santa Cruz Warriors prior to being cut. Even though it didn’t last long, being on the NBA radar was enough. JBA fans were thrilled with the news when it broke.
I'm so happy to FINALLY share this news! BIG shoutout to JBA LEAGUE alum Curtis Hollis signing with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA G-LEAGUE!

Hollis hails from Arlington, Texas. This is the same city former No. 1 overall pick, Cade Cunningham calls home. The two know each other very well and trained under Ashton Bennings, who is Cunningham’s cousin.
2022 has been good to Hollis, especially in the Dominican Republic. He just won the second of his two championships with San Martin. During this past season, Hollis averaged 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists per game. At 6-foot-6, Hollis possesses the physical attributes fit for any NBA team. Combine that with his 7-1 wingspan, his length makes him a coveted defensive prospect.

However, it’s Hollis’ offensive skillset that will thrive in the NBA game. Hollis has an exceptionally high basketball IQ. He was trusted as far back as his days with the Houston Ballers to be a floor general. On the wing, he utilizes his quick first step to attack and finish either scoring or facilitating.
Making it to the NBA was never a matter of if for Hollis — just when. His passion for the game is undeniable. To go from a startup league, to Germany, and to various professional leagues in Central America, his story belongs in a Hollywood script.
Expect the full roster to come out tomorrow with Hollis’ name on it.
