At 9:27 p.m. today, the MLB posted that Chris Taylor has announced his retirement from Major League Baseball.

Chris Taylor was drafted in the 5th round of the 2012 MLB Amateur draft by the Seattle Mariners.

Taylor found the most success wearing a Dodger uniform, playing with Los Angeles from 2016 to 2024. Taylor was designated for assignment by the Dodgers in 2024 and quickly signed with the Angels but never managed to find his form with a .179/.278/.321 slash line in 30 games with the Halos.

Chris Taylor was known by Dodger fans for his postseason performances, non-more spectacular than his 2021 postseason, where he posted a .351/.419/.784 slash line.

In the Wild Card game against the St. Louis Cardinals, Taylor hit a two run, walk off home run in the bottom of the 9th to send the Dodgers to the Divisional Series against divisional and heated rival, the San Fransico Giants.

And in Game 5 of the 2021 NLCS, Taylor had arguably his greatest hitting performance of his career, totally 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 3 of which being home runs.

Taylor won two World Series titles during career, both with the Dodgers, his first in 2020 against the Tampa Bay Rays, and the second in 2024 against the New York Yankees.
