Boston is having another incredible season in the Eastern Conference with a chance to repeat as NBA Champions.

The Celtics had several marquee pieces on its 2024 championship team — including Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Kristaps Porzingis — but will the front office keep everyone together? Boston is now under new ownership as Bill Chisholm bought the Celtics from the Grousbeck family for a record breaking $6.1 billion. Boston has opportunity this summer to pay out the highest paid roster or have flexibility within its roster. If it choses flexibility, it may have to trade either Porzingis or Holiday — according to Jake Fischer of The Stein. Fischer reports that NBA executives are monitoring both players for the Celtics.

Porzingis is averaging 19.7 points and seven rebounds a game, while Holliday has 10.9 points per game.

Tatum and Brown are the two biggest contracts on the roster. Boston wants to keep both together, so unloading either Porzingis or Holliday would work for new ownership. The team is focused on making another run to the EC Finals.
