The Boston Celtics secured a gritty 108-100 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday, taking a 2-1 series advantage.

Friday’s matchup saw both teams struggle to find much efficiency as defense prevailed. The Sixers jumped out to a small lead during the first quarter, but the Celtics finished the frame strong and held a five-point lead after 12 minutes.
In the second quarter, Boston and Philadelphia remained in a stalemate with Boston’s lead remaining in the single digits. By halftime, Boston was ahead by seven.
The third quarter played out similarly, with Tyrese Maxey finding a rhythm for the Sixers while Jaylen Brown and the Celtics maintained pace. After three quarters, Boston was still ahead by five.
Both offenses gained momentum in the final frame. Brown continued to lead the way during clutch time and Payton Pritchard came through at the perfect time with some timely three-point shooting.
With a three-point lead and 30 seconds to play, Jayson Tatum came through with a 29′ three to go up by six and seal the victory.
Brown and Tatum each finished the game with 25 points on strong efficiency to lead the way for the Celtics.
For Philadelphia, Maxey put up 31 points and six assists.
