Manchester United midfielder Carlos Baleba will miss several weeks with a hamstring injury sustained during the club’s 3-2 victory over Roma on Tuesday at Old Trafford.
Baleba left the field early in the second half and received on-pitch treatment while visibly emotional. Manager Michael Carrick confirmed Friday that Baleba’s recovery will extend beyond the upcoming international break.

“We don’t know the exact timeframe, but it will be multiple weeks,” Carrick said at his news conference. “He won’t play before or during the international window.”
Baleba, 22, joined Manchester United from Brighton this summer. The Roma win ended a nine-game winless run for United. The team hosts Aston Villa on Sunday.
Carrick described the Roma match as “a fantastic night” for supporters but emphasized its limited significance. “It was one moment in time,” he said. “Nothing is secured yet — we must build on it.”
