Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans has been ruled out with a concussion after suffering a scary injury against the Detroit Lions on Monday.
As Evans attempted to catch a deep pass from Baker Mayfield, Lions defender Rock Ya-Sin wrapped him up, causing Evans’ head and shoulder to slam into the turf. He remained down and appeared concussed until being carted off the field.

The current ruling is a concussion as well as a right shoulder injury. ESPN reports that Evans was in “excruciating pain” as he was leaving the field.
The 32-year-old did not catch any of his four targets on Monday prior to the injury. Evans isn’t the first key player injured for the Buccaneers this season as Chris Godwin, Emeka Egbuka and several others have also missed time due to injury.
