Bronny James has breakout game after early preseason struggles

L.A. Lakers rookie Bronny James had a solid outing Friday night against the Golden State Warriors after struggling in his previous preseason games.

James dropped 17 points on 7-for-17 shooting along with four rebounds, three steals and a block. The Lakers rested their starters, which might explain why the Warriors annihilated them 132-74.

“It’s just a great feeling to go out there and not think as much as I do and just play,” James said after the game. “[It gives me] just a little bit of confidence going into the season even though I might not be in that rotation, might not be playing, but just going into practice, maybe G League games with that confidence in myself to go out there and play my game. I feel like that’s the biggest part of it.”

Despite the loss, Friday’s matchup was Bronny’s best game of his young NBA career and while he has a long way to go if he wants to become an NBA starter, a confidence boost is a great way to end his first preseason.
