The Atlanta Falcons have announced that head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot have been fired. Morris had been head coach since 2024 while Fontenot has been with the Falcons since 2021.
The Falcons had mixed results under Morris. The team went 8-9 in both the 2024 and 2025 season, missing the playoffs in both years. The Falcons ended the season on a three game-winning streak, however it was not enough for Morris to stick around for another season.
Under Fontenot, the Falcons went 36-48 with no winning seasons and no playoff appearances. Fontenot also signed quarterback Kirk Cousins to a four-year $180 million dollar contract while simultaneously drafting Michael Penix jr. in the first round.
The Falcons are now the third team to have a head coach opening and the second team to have a general manager opening.
