No. 24 Arizona defeated TCU 29–28 on Saturday in Tucson after kicker Michael Salgado-Medina made a 37-yard field goal with 39 seconds remaining — set up by the Wildcats’ recovery of an onside pooch kick.

Trailing 28–26 with 1:45 left, Wildcats quarterback Noah Fifita threw a touchdown pass to Quincy Craig. Arizona failed on its 2-point conversion attempt. On the ensuing kickoff, Ian French floated an onside pooch kick over TCU’s front line. Horned Frogs wide receiver Ed Small dropped the ball over his shoulder, and Arizona’s Zuri Watson recovered at the TCU 26-yard line. Four plays later, Salgado-Medina kicked the go-ahead field goal. Defensive back Tyrese Boss sealed the win with an interception.

Fifita threw for 313 yards and two touchdowns but also threw one interception. Hudson Hooper returned that pick 93 yards for a touchdown late in the second quarter, giving TCU a 14–10 halftime lead.

TCU quarterback Jaden Craig rushed for two touchdowns, including a 2-yard score that put the Horned Frogs ahead 28–20 in the fourth quarter. Craig passed for 232 yards and one touchdown — a 6-yard throw to Jordan Dwyer in the third quarter.

Arizona opened the game with a touchdown drive capped by Isaiah Mizell’s diving 20-yard catch. Salgado-Medina added a 43-yard field goal late in the first quarter to make it 10–0. Arizona’s defense held TCU to 123 total yards in the first half before Craig scrambled 7 yards for a touchdown.

The win improves Arizona to 7–2 overall. TCU falls to 4–5 overall and 2–4 in Big 12 play. Arizona hosts No. 3 Utah on November 14. TCU hosts Kansas State the same day.
