Kyrie Irving’s knee injury dismantled the confidence of Mavericks fans for making the NBA playoffs.
A lot of conversations popped off when Dallas’ front office made the move of trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers; however, the Mavs felt good about acquiring Anthony Davis from the Lakers. The former Kentucky standout and 2012 NCAA Tournament Champion is a 10x NBA All-Star and 2020 NBA Champion with the Lakers. Davis arrived in Dallas on February 2 and played his first game versus the Houston Rockets. The 6-foot-10 forward/center electrified the crowd in his debut with a double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds on 10-of-18 shooting from the field. He guided the Mavericks to a 116-105 win.
