Charlotte Hornets guard Kon Knueppel exited Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets after about six minutes with soreness in his left leg.

The second-year guard did not return after halftime. The Hornets described the issue as soreness in his left leg — consistent with a left hamstring injury that kept him out of all preseason games and the team’s first eight regular-season contests.

Knueppel originally injured his left hamstring during offseason on-court activity. He missed Charlotte’s entire preseason and first eight games this season.

With 6:12 left in the first quarter, Knueppel lost the ball out of bounds while dribbling upcourt, then grimaced and favored his left leg.

As a rookie, Knueppel led the NBA in three-pointers made and finished second to Cooper Flagg in Rookie of the Year voting.

According to ESPN’s official data feeds, Knueppel is a 21-year-old guard in his second NBA season. He was selected fourth overall by Charlotte in the 2025 NBA draft.
