Michael Porter Jr. scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Julius Randle added 22 points. The Nets erased a seven-point halftime deficit to secure the victory.

Naz Reid led Charlotte with 28 points on 11-of-18 shooting. Grayson Allen added 22. Brandon Miller and Sion James each scored 10. The Hornets fell to 3–6 after losing five straight games following a 3–1 start.
Charlotte forward Kon Knueppel made his season debut but left in the first quarter with soreness in his left leg. He played six minutes and scored three points on three free throws. Knueppel led the NBA in three-pointers last season and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting.
The Hornets host the Boston Celtics on Friday. The Nets play at Atlanta on Saturday.
