New England Patriots wide receiver A.J. Brown and running back TreVeyon Henderson were ruled out Saturday for Sunday’s Week 8 game against the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium.

Brown missed all practices after Wednesday due to a knee flare-up and did not finish that day’s session. Henderson was ruled out because of illness.

The Patriots ended the week with three healthy wide receivers on their 53-man roster. Veteran Mack Hollins is eligible to be designated for return from injured reserve after Sunday’s game. Hollins sustained a calf injury on October 4 and had recorded 15 receptions for 209 yards before landing on IR.

Patriots tight end Hunter Henry had his recently extended contract restructured, generating $3.21 million in additional salary cap space. That move raised New England’s available cap space to $5.245 million.

Context and Roster Impact

Since Hollins’ injury, DeMario "Pop" Douglas and Henry are tied for the team lead in receptions with 14 each. Douglas holds the team’s highest target share at 18.7%.

Henry leads the Patriots with 296 receiving yards — the fewest for a team-leading receiver through the first seven games in franchise history, according to ESPN Research.
