The Memphis Grizzlies faced off against the Chicago Bulls for the first time in the Summer League, and the prospects did not disappoint. Third-overall pick Cameron Boozer led his team to the win over fourth-overall pick Caleb Wilson 97-96.
Since it was the first game for the Bulls, they might have had some rust. A few team issues occurred, including double-digit turnovers and many missed free throws. However, Wilson did the best he could to lead his team, scoring 35 points, knocking down 7 threes, and shooting over 50%.

Wilson was a bit forceful at moments, losing the ball 6 times, but the flashes were there. Wilson’s jumpshot was on the whole contest, nailing stepback after stepback. He also made the play of the game with a vicious block at the rim. Wilson could be a walking highlight reel, but he just needs to work on his ball security and free throw shooting.
Coming right off their SLC Summer League games, the Grizzlies kept the Bulls offense at bay. Specifically, Boozer looked very polished, scoring 23 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and assisting 4 times. He was also very efficient from the floor, shooting 7-11, and showcased his athleticism throughout.
We have seen this type of performance from Boozer repeatedly already, maintaining consistent play in the Summer League games. At only 18 years old, he is leading his team to each W, so it will be interesting to see if he can maintain his consistent leadership role.
