WATCH: Ronald Acuña Jr. extends streak with leadoff home run

After a sluggish start to the season, Atlanta Braves right fielder Ronald Acuña Jr. has come alive in a major way at the plate. On the very first pitch of Sunday’s matchup against the Cincinnati Reds, he hit his fifth home run of the last four games.

Acuña managed to hit just two home runs in the first month of the season before dealing with a hamstring injury. But he’s returned with a vengeance over the last several days.

He hit a home run against the Boston Red Sox on Thursday before slamming another one against the Reds on Friday and two more against the same team on Saturday.

This streak was already impressive coming into Sunday, but Acuña wasted no time extending it further on Sunday. His individual struggles earlier this season didn’t seem to have an impact on the Braves.

On Saturday, they reached 40 wins before the month of June for the first time in franchise history. If Acuña keeps up this impressive hitting, they’ll be dangerous in the postseason.
