Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is now expected to play in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday, per NBA insider Shams Charania.

Edwards suffered a hyperextension and a bone bruise in his left knee just nine days ago during Game 4 of the first round against the Denver Nuggets and was initially expected to miss the first two games of the second round.

But Edwards reportedly recovered very quickly and was pushing to get clearance to suit up for Monday’s battle. Fortunately, he sustained no ligament damage with the injury.

He had a career year for Minnesota this season, averaging 28.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 48.9% from the field and 39.9% from three.

His return comes at a perfect time as the Timberwolves are matched up against an elite Spurs team.

Victor Wembanyama has been tearing up teams on both ends of the floor, so Minnesota will need more heroics from Edwards if they want to reach the conference finals.
