The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Sacramento Kings in a dominant display of shotmaking on Wednesday night, winning the battle 120-106. After getting the win on Wednesday, the Mavericks will now face the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday and the winner will secure the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Mavericks jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, but the Kings responded well and kept the game close. It wasn’t close for much longer though, as Dallas’ size and three-point shooting helped them open up a 20-point lead at halftime.

The Mavericks continued their hot shooting throughout the second half and while the game got marginally closer at one point, the Kings never cut the lead to single digits.

For Dallas, Anthony Davis had a statement game and finished with 27 points, nine rebounds and three blocks while Klay Thompson put up 23 points on 5-of-7 shooting from deep.

The Mavericks shot 50% from deep for the night and dominated virtually every aspect of the game.

For the Kings, DeMar DeRozan had 33 points and seven rebounds alongside Zach LaVine‘s 20 points and nine assists.

The Mavericks will now prepare for a tough play-in matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday in which the winner gets the 8th seed and the loser is eliminated.
