The New York Knicks are fresh off of an Eastern Conference Finals appearance, but much of the current discourse is focused on what the Knicks could have done better throughout the deep playoff run.
While Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns has long been criticized for his struggles on defense, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas recently made it personal with a harsh rant about Towns’ physical appearance.

On the most recent episode of the Gil’s Arena Show, he said Towns was “built like a girl”.
“It’s his physical makeup. Long legs, short torso, big a** feet. There’s nothing he can do, he’s built like a whole f****** b****,” Arenas said. “He’s built like a female. Am I saying something wrong? He’s built like a girl, he has girl hips. He’s like a full WNBA player.”

He concluded the rant by claiming that Towns’ frame prohibits him from being a strong defender in pick-and-roll situations.
KAT’s defensive shortcomings are anything but new, but Arenas’ recent criticism sparked controversy, with some fans claiming that the comments crossed the line between basketball analysis and personal insults.
Regardless, Towns played a major role in helping the Knicks reach the Conference Finals for the first time in over two decades and deserves credit for making the most of his first season in New York.
