The Indiana Pacers made a historical comeback in Game 1 against the New York Knicks. One player who doesn’t get many headlines, but played solid for Indiana was Obi Toppin.

Toppin had a good Game 1, scoring eight points and grabbing 10 rebounds off the bench for the Pacers. As the game was ending and the players were walking off the court, Toppin was met by a trash-talking fan in the stands.

“You suck Obi! We got rid of you for a reason! You got lucky!”

This prompted Toppin to open a challenge to the fan.

“I’m at the Ritz NoMad, pull up!”

Toppin wasn’t playing with the fan and in all likelihood, the fan didn’t show up to the hotel. Most fans feel like they can say anything to a player and not expect a response.

Toppin started his career with the Knicks, playing three seasons. He averaged 7.0 points and 3.0 rebounds in 14.7 minutes per game.

Even though he wasn’t a starter, Toppin played well for New York. This is likely why the fan’s words bothered him so much.

The Pacers and Obi Toppin will look to take a 2-0 series lead tonight when the series resumes.

Tip-off is at 8:00 PM EST.
