It seems like Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is constantly making history as he gets up there in age. During this season, it seems like it’s almost daily that he is setting some sort of record. Playing at this high of a level in his career is something that this league has never seen before.
In a 114-106 victory over Portland, James has now tied Michael Jordan with the most 30-point games in league history after finishing the game with 38 points and eight assists. He has scored 30+ points in 562 games over the course of his career.

Since joining the LA in the 2018-19 season, LeBron James has had multiple historic performances. He has broken the all-time minutes record and all-time scoring record while wearing a Lakers uniform. He became the first NBA player to play with his son (Bronny) in an NBA game on opening night.
It took James 1,522 NBA games to tie the record for the most 30-point games, while Jordan accomplished this feat in just 1,072 games.

This significant difference highlights Jordan’s extraordinary efficiency and further cements his legacy as one of the most iconic players in NBA history, a player who redefined the league and set a new standard for greatness back in the 90’s. While both James and Jordan have served as cornerstones of the NBA, achieving historic milestones that will endure for generations, Jordan’s impact remains a defining fixture in the league’s narrative.
Interestingly, both players reached the milestone of 562 games with 30 or more points at similar ages, Jordan did it at the age 39 and LeBron at 40.
Despite only a one-year age difference, LeBron James needed 450 additional games to achieve this record, reflecting the significant increase in the number of NBA games played since Jordan’s era. This contrast highlights not only the evolution of the league but also the endurance and adaptability required to excel in the modern NBA.
LA currently sits sixth in the West and tops the Pacific standings.
