New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson is reportedly out indefinitely with a hamstring strain, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. While no timeline was given, Williamson will be reevaluated in the coming weeks.
He was off to a rough start this season, shooting a significantly lower percentage than last season and his game hasn’t looked as explosive. This injury involves the same hamstring that he injured last season and he’s already missed several games this season due to hamstring tightness.

Williamson has a lengthy injury history and in 400 possible career games, he’s only played in 190 of them. In six games this season, he’s averaging 22.7 points, eight rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.
His injury is the newest in a series of injuries that are currently plaguing the Pelicans. Given that no timeline was specified and that Williamson has struggled to return from injury before, it could be a while before we see him back on the court.
